I like this song by Jose Gonzalez, but….
AirFrance has played it everytime I’ve boarded one of their planes. “Ladies and Gentlemen, this is your captain speaking. I see problems down the line.”

USC Trojan Parents Weekend - Important Health Update!
Dear Trojan Parents,
We anxiously await your arrival for Trojan Parents Weekend! …
You may be aware that the university has responded to an outbreak of a contagious gastrointestinal virus over the last few days, similar to the situation at Georgetown University. USC immediately responded with aggressive measures to deal with the outbreak, providing assistance to students, faculty, and staff affected by the virus through the University Health Center, local hospitals, and Los Angeles emergency response systems. We are working with the Los Angeles County Department of Health, implementing all of its recommendations to control the spread of the virus.

As you plan your Trojan Parents Weekend visit, we ask for your help in continuing our efforts to ensure the campus community bounces back quickly and that you stay healthy. …
During your campus visit, please wash your hands frequently, avoid contact with individuals who are ill, and limit the spread of germs in public areas through the use of sanitizers and wipes. Consistent with our standard practice this week, we will have hand sanitizer available at all large Trojan Parents Weekend venues and food events. USC staff and food servers will also engage in wide-ranging precautionary measures.
I look forward to seeing you this Friday. Fight On!
my poor sister caught the Trojan Plague. Mom and Dad are sure to fly out to LA this weekend armed with massive amounts of hand sanitizer and a well-stocked medicine cabinet.
As Dire as the Times May Seem, History Isn't About to Repeat Itself
Remember that we’ve been through tough times before. The Internet bust was almost as extraordinary as the 1929 crash: Between early 2000 and late 2002, the tech-heavy Nasdaq index fell almost 80%. You may recall the speculative real-estate lending that resulted in almost 2,000 bank failures between 1987 and 1991, and the Dow plunging 22.6% in one day in 1987. While none of those were pleasant, you’re still here.
Stay the course. You know this, but it’s a time to return to the basics. Live within your means. Reduce your debt. Keep saving — and investing. When the cycle turns, and it will, you’ll be glad you did.
